ASU Head Coach Dennis Erickson - Nike Coach of the Year Clinic Speech 2008 Here is a copy of Arizona State University head coach Dennis Erickson's presentation at the 2008 Nike Coach of the Year Clinic. The title of the article is Effective Use of Offensive Formations. Coach Erickson is a long time pioneer in the use of one back formations going back to the 1980's when he was with Washington State and then of course the University of Miami, etc. In this presentation he covers several of the basic formations he favors for offense. His two main run plays are the inside and outside zone run play which is the vast majority of his run game. He believes in doing what you do best and that execution is the key to making the plays effective.
